April 11, 2013 Prominent Spanish Architect Francisco Mangado to Lecture

, one of Spain’s most acclaimed architects, is to lecture on Monday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. in McCarty Auditorium at the UT Art and Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Blvd. The lecture is free and open to the public, and will be .

Mangado was recently selected as one of seven international architects elevated to the 2013 AIA College of Fellows.His firm  considers the context and meaning of space in relationship to service and dialogue.In addition to his architectural practice, Mangado is a professor at University of Navarre School of Architecture.

Mangado also recently established the foundation, .The foundation’s mission is interdisciplinary:

“To give solutions to the complex social framework, architecture has to interact with other disciplines of creation, thought, or economics. This interdisciplinary fabric is what inspires the Foundation, which takes architecture to be a service called upon to express, condition, and facilitate the everyday life of people. So it is that the Foundation incorporates the know-how of urban planners, sociologists, thinkers, scientists, artists, and all those concerned with the great challenges of our times.”
