October 9, 2015Alumnus Boswell Honored for Professional Achievement
The remarkable professional achievements of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ alumnus and Professor of Practice, C. Keith Boswell (1980) were recognized this month by the University of Tennessee Alumni Board. In a red-carpet ceremony, Boswell was one of five alumni who received the Alumni Professional Achievement Award, which recognizes alumni who have achieved a high level of success in their fields, who have a history of outstanding contributions to their professions and whose success brings honor and credit to the university.
In a career spanning 32 years, Keith Boswell has established himself as one of the most influential architects worldwide in the area of high-performance building-façade systems.  In 2013, his international prominence was demonstrated by the publication of his book, Exterior Building Enclosures: Design Process and Composition for Innovative ¹ó²¹Ã§²¹»å±ð²õ.
Soon after graduating from the in 1980, Boswell joined , a distinguished architectural and engineering firm with a worldwide presence. Currently, he serves as the technical partner of SOM’s San Francisco office, where he oversees detailed design and construction documentation for projects across the globe, including high-rise office buildings, government projects, museums, retail spaces and airport terminals. In fact, Boswell has provided technical design leadership for more than twenty award-winning projects, from the San Francisco International Airport to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. for more information on Boswell’s service at SOM.
In 2012, he was named Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, an honor given to just two percent of architects. He is a past chair of the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s Board of Advisors, where he distinguished himself as a passionate advocate for the college.
