URBAN PLAY Â (1-7)
7 SITES / 14 PROPOSALS
Instructor: Â Marleen Kay Davis FAIA
Students selected one of seven different sites for a new home for either the Ice Bears Hockey Team or the Smokies Minor League Baseball Team. Â As part of the design research, students tried to program the new facility in such a way that the new design contributed to urban life throughout the year, not just on game days. Â Sites were strategically located on under-utilized land near exisiting or future pedestrian networks and greenways connected to Downtown Knoxville.
URBAN HIGH SCHOOL Â (8)
North Gay Street
Instructor:  Michael Davis, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP
Students researched recent educational trends and developed programs for an innovative high school related to the design arts and architecture. Â Four proposals demonstrate the potential of North Gay Street.
