Get to know Bryon Kuth and Elizabeth Ranieri:
Elizabeth Ranieri is Design Principal of Kuth Ranieri Architects and co-founded the San Francisco Bay Area firm with her partner, Byron Kuth. With more than 27 years experience practicing architecture, she has earned a national reputation for an innovative and expressive architecture that’s rooted in sustainable strategies.
Byron Kuth holds degrees in Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island ֲý and has been licensed to practice architecture in the state of California since 1992. Together with his partner, Elizabeth Ranieri, he established Kuth Ranieri Architects in 1990. Kuth has taught at the California College of the Arts, was a visiting instructor at the Harvard Graduate ֲý, and participated in the Friedman Professor Masters Studios at the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley.
As a small architecture firm with offices in San Francisco and the Boston area, Kuth Ranieri Architects has used collaboration to partner on a variety of projects of different scopes and sizes. Principals Byron Kuth and Liz Ranieri believe the ongoing shift in the architectural marketplace creates an exciting possibility for smaller studios like theirs to contribute the innovative thinking and adaptability that larger firms value. Their joint ventures and associations with firms such as Gensler, SOM, and SmithGroup have allowed them to diversify—no projects are too big or too small to consider. Their success comes from their talented team, strong work ethic, and concerted efforts to reach out to past and present partners. Lasting connections have played a tremendous role in Kuth Ranieri’s ability to team up with other firms on new and ongoing projects. Collaboration has allowed the firm to stay true to their small studio culture while also expanding the nature and scope of their work.
The lecture is open to the public. It is funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture Fund and co-sponsored by .
