Lecture: Jeff Goldstein
September 24, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
No costJoin us for a public lecture by , a Principal and founding partner at , a contemporary architecture, urbanism and environmental design firm, on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, 5:30 p.m.
Goldstein’s lecture, titled “Dispersion,” will outline a range of DIGSAU’s work including obscure projects that are unusual for typical architecture studios. These unique projects contribute to the Philadelphia-based studio’s other work and continue the firm’s focus on innovation and redefining architecture.
Goldstein is passionate about the relationship between people and their physical surroundings. He is currently an adjunct professor at Temple University, where he has taught sustainability, technology and design studios. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of both AIA Philadelphia and the Community Design Collaborative, where he advocates for design excellence through pro bono preliminary design services to nonprofit organizations.
Goldstein attended the University of Pennsylvania for undergraduate studies and Yale University for graduate studies.
In 2013, DIGSAU was named one of North America’s “Emerging Voices” by the Architectural League of New York. In a built environment where authenticity is increasingly scarce, DIGSAU focuses on architecture’s capacity to communicate via its materials and explores innovative ways that the craft of building can connect people to the experience of place, history and time.
This lecture is funded by the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund and is co-sponsored by .
Unless otherwise noted, lectures begin at 5:30 p.m. in Rm. 109/McCarty Auditorium in the Art + Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Blvd. All are welcome.
