Lecture: Christopher Marcinkoski

Join us for a public lecture by , associate professor of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, on Monday, Feb. 12, 5:30 p.m.  Marcinkoski is founding partner of , overseeing all of the office’s urban design and planning work. Prior to establishing the practice, he was a senior associate at James Corner Field Operations (JCFO) in New York City where he led that office’s master planning and urban design projects.

The lecture will draw from Marcinkoski’s recently published book, The City That Never Was, as well as his current research Africa 2050: An Atlas of Speculative Urbanization. Marcinkoski will offer a critical look at what happens when urbanization activities become wildly out of sync with economic and demographic realities.

This lecture is funded through the Robert B. Church Memorial Lecture fund.  Unless otherwise noted, lectures begin at 5:30 p.m. in Rm. 109/McCarty Auditorium in the Art + Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Blvd.  All are welcome.  Learn more about our lectures.
